The Atoka County EMS and Atoka Police Officer Jedediah Griffith responded to the scene of an accident on Saturday, May 23, 2020, at the Walmart parking lot.
A white 2006 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Haleih Bond, 19, of Atoka struck a pedestrian in the Walmart parking lot.
Bond stopped at the Walmart entrance to allow pedestrians walking on the crosswalk to pass. As she continued forward Cecil Butler, 88, of Atoka, exited the store and walked east directly in front of Bond.
Butler was struck by the Silverado. He was transported to the Atoka County Medical Center for injuries to his head, trunk, and legs. As of press time there are no further updates as to Butler’s condition.
