On Tuesday, May 26, 2020, Atoka Police Officer Tyson Dillishaw arrived at the Atoka City Hall to speak to city employee, Phyllis Bates, about a counterfeit bill.
Bates found the $20 bill when counting the earnings from the Atoka Sports Complex. The fake had been easy to find due to the words “prop copy” being written on the back.
Officer Dillishaw noted the texture of the bill was different as well. The bill was confiscated for evidence. There are no suspects as of press time.
