Atoka Police Officer Jedediah Griffith observed a man walking in the center lane of northbound Highway 69 on Saturday, May 30, 2020.
The man continued across the Highway and traveled behind the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle.
Officer Griffith made contact with the man, Ryan McInich, 21, of Lehigh, who was noticeably sweating. McInich had dilated pupils and was unable to control his body movements.
When asked if he had taken any intoxicating substances, McInich stated he had slept outside the previous night in Tushka.
McInich was placed into custody for public intoxication and searched for weapons and contraband.
In his right watch pocket was a small plastic bag containing one gram of a white crystal-like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, and a glass smoking pipe with a burnt residue inside.
McInich was transported to the Atoka County Jail. He is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (misdemeanor), possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor), and public intoxication (misdemeanor).
