Graveside services for Eula Mae Hopkins, age 89 years, a former Caney resident, were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at Gethsemane Cemetery, in Caddo, with Pastor Jeremy Parham officiating.
Interment was in Gethsemane Cemetery, at Caddo.
Services were under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service, in Durant.
Hopkins passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020.
She was born on May 10, 1931, to General Jackson and Eula Maude Huggins, at Whiteflat, Texas.
Hopkins worked as a seamstress and cared for her family.
She married Louis W. Hopkins on September 20, 1947, in Fort Bragg, California. The couple shared over 40 years of marriage until Louis’ passing, in 1991.
Hopkins was a 48 year member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, southeast of Caney, before moving to Bonham, in 2005, to live with family. She was currently a member of the Boyd Baptist Church. Hopkins enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, canning and spending time with her beloved family.
Survivors include her daughters, Kimberly Hopkins of Bonham, Texas; Lisa Hopkins and spouse, Lori Tracy, of Dallas, Texas; Lynn Arthur and spouse, Steve Arthur, of Bonham, Texas; grandchildren, Kari Worsham-Clark and spouse, Marshal Clark, of Bonham, Texas; Ashley McCain and spouse, Keith McCain, of Bonham, Texas; Lindsey Flores and spouse, Zachary Flores, of Van Alstyne, Texas; Jacob Arthur of Sherman, Texas; great-grandchildren, Elliott and Ava Worsham; Calleigh Clark; Kinley and Cooper McCain; Elaina, Jayden and Layne Flores.
Preceding her in death were her parents, General Jackson and Eula Maude Huggins; husband, Louis W. Hopkins, brothers, Theron L. “Speed” Huggins, Jack Huggins, Jr. and John E. Huggins; sisters, Anna E. Walker, Wilma Jo Smith, Dorothy L. Roberts and N. Yvonne Smith.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Mt. Caramel Baptist Church, Caney, Alzheimer’s Association, or the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Association (HCMA).
