Wednesday, June 10, 2020, Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper John Ivey responded to a single vehicle accident on Bob White Lane.
When the trooper arrived the driver of the vehicle, Crystal Dawn Lewis, 36, of Stonewall was attempting to leave the scene on foot.
Lewis was very unsteady and had red bloodshot eyes, slurred confused speech, and a very strong odor of alcohol on her breath.
Trooper Ivey read Lewis Implied Consent for the State’s test. Lewis refused to take the alcohol content test. She then became combative.
Lewis was placed in restraints, but started kicking and spitting at the trooper. She unbuckled herself and tried to exit the patrol unit, continuing to kick and spit at Trooper Ivey.
While transporting her to the Atoka County Jail, Trooper Ivey had to stop his unit due to Lewis fighting, kicking the mirror, camera, and computer in his unit. Leg restraints were placed on her until arriving at the jail.
Once at the jail Lewis began fighting the trooper, kicking the jailer in the groin area as she was escorted and restrained in the facility.
Lewis is charged with two counts of battery/assault and battery on police officer (felonies), prisoner placing bodily fluid on government employee (felony), and driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol (misdemeanor).
