On Saturday, June 13, 2020, Atoka Police Officer Taylor Wood arrived at the Tractor Supply for a report of shoplifting.
Officer Wood was advised about a white female in a blue 2019 Ford F-150 pickup with two male occupants that had entered the store attempting to exchange a winch for money or store items.
The vehicle was observed at the Love’s Travel Center. Officer Tyson Dillishaw made contact with the individuals, and brought them back to the Tractor Supply while Officer Wood spoke to the store employee.
The employee stated they saw the female, identified as April Dawn Carver, 46, of Krebs, with a dog harness, tee shirt, and a pair of shorts, but only paid for a lighter at check out.
The items were located inside the vehicle and brought inside for the employee to identify.
Carver stated she bought the items elsewhere. When confronted about the theft she changed her story to state the cashier scanned all three items.
The employee denied Carver’s story advising the officers she only paid for a lighter. Carver was placed under arrest and transported to the Atoka County Jail. The total worth of the items was $47.97.
Carver is charged with petit larceny (misdemeanor) and obstructing an officer (misdemeanor).
