Wednesday, June 24, 2020, Atoka Police Officer Taylor Wood approached a black 2007 Chrysler 300 due to a report of the occupants having sexual contact in the Walmart parking lot.
The officer checked the male and female’s information. The man, Austin Godwin, 28, of Mesquite, Texas, had an active warrant in Atoka County.
Godwin stated he had nothing illegal on his person and consented to have his vehicle searched.
During the search, Officer Wood located a hypodermic needle with a dark unknown liquid substance inside. Neither occupant claimed ownership of the needle.
Also found was a clear glass pipe with a white crystal-like substance, a spoon with a burnt substance, a gold and purple metal cigarette holder containing a bag of white crystal-like substance, and a black tar-like substance.
Godwin was transported to the Atoka County Jail for booking. He is charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance (misdemeanor), possession of controlled dangerous substance (misdemeanor), and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor).
