Friday, June 26, 2020, a single vehicle accident involving a semi happened north of Old Broom Road on West Highway Seven.
The KMB Trucking Peterbilt driven by Joseph Michael Haire, 57, of Ada drove off the roadway to the right and struck a concrete culvert.
After striking the culvert the semi turned one quarter time and stopped in the ditch to the right of Highway Seven.
Haire was transported by McAlester Air Care to OU Trauma Center in Norman for internal trunk injuries.
The cause of the accident is currently unknown.
Emergency crews from Choctaw Tribal Police, Atoka Fire Department, Wards Chapel Fire Department, Atoka County EMS, McAlester Air Care, and Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper John Ivey assisted.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Jamey Miller investigated.
