Lots of fireworks going on in Atoka county this past week. My grandson Scott and his two sons Kayden and Reagan and I watched the ones at Stringtown from the front porch of Zelma and Johnny Self’s home. They were awesome.
Scott is stationed in Witchita, Kansas. In three more years he will have 20 years with the Air Force.
Before we headed to Stringtown we all had supper at my house. Scott and his boys, Tonya and Baker James (her grandson), and Wendy and Mack Fincher.
On Saturday night we were at the home of grandson Matt and Charlie James west of Atoka for a cook out and more fire works. Many homes were doing this out that way. It is something that now you just buy a box and set it on fire and you have all these beautiful fireworks go off. I always thought someone worked forever tying them together to make all that work. No, you just buy a box and set it on fire.
On my way back home to Lane I saw them going off up and down the road all the way home. It was nice setting out to watch this, there was a breeze and not too hot.
We had a good little rain shower on Monday afternoon and we have been blessed almost everyday with a little rain.
This virus is getting worse instead of better, the number of cases every week is scary.
Lots of people are going out to McGee Creek Lake, they said all the camping spaces were filled. I know they are happy to get out of the house since we have all been there for so long now.
That’s all my news for this week, see you next week the Lord’s willing.
If you like yourself and who you are, then you will probably like almost everyone you meet regardless of who they are.
