Thursday, July 2, 2020, Atoka Police Officer Jedediah Griffith made contact with the driver of a green 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup that failed to signal as they turned into the Dollar General parking lot.
Identified as Bradley Don Reed, 30, of Atoka, who stated he did not use his turn signal due to having issues with the vehicle’s lights. Reed also said he lost his driver’s license.
Officer Griffith observed the strong smell of marijuana coming from the Silverado. Reed advised the officer there was no marijuana in the truck.
Reed was asked to exit the vehicle and searched for weapons. Officer Griffith asked him again if there was marijuana in the Silverado.
“Yes, there is a baggie under the seat, but it’s not mine.” Reed confessed.
Under the seat, a baggie was located with six grams of a leafy green substance that field tested positive for marijuana. In the back seat was a camouflage bag with a green container that had more of the green leafy substance inside.
Reed was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was transported to the Atoka County Jail for booking. The Silverado was towed by Mullins wrecker service.
