On Thursday, July 16, 2020, the Atoka Planning Commission will meet at City Hall at 7:00 p.m. to discuss a possible rezoning.
The request for a rezone of the lot located at 215 North California was made by The Sarah House.
Founded by Atoka resident Randi Hauff, the Sarah House is a Christ-centered safe drug free environment for women 18 years of age and older in Atoka County.
The request is to rezone the property from a single family residential district to a R-2 general residential district.
Residents of Sarah House work through four phases of recovery and a 12 step program. Each phase has a specific set of guidelines and rules that must be followed to continue living at the home.
According to the Sarah House resident handbook, residents must follow a code of conduct that includes: no foul language, no possession of drugs or alcohol, and residents must attend Bible studies and church services.
Residents are requested to dress modestly with tattoos and piercings covered appropriately. The cost to live at the Sarah House is $100.00 per week or $400.00 per month.
The Atoka Planning Commission meeting will be held in the Council Room of the City Hall at 353 East A Street, beginning at 7:00 p.m..
