Wednesday, July 15, 2020, a two vehicle accident was investigated by Atoka Police Officer Randall Slawson.
Patricia Mills, 68, of Caney, was stopped on West Court Street at the red light in a black 2008 Volkswagon Passat. When the light changed she continued through traffic, turning right onto Highway 69.
As Mills turned she struck a grey 2013 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Sean Hardman, 27, of Royse City, Texas.
Hardman told Officer Slawson he had a green traffic light to continue through the intersection.
A witness who was sitting on East Court Street waiting to merge with southbound traffic informed the officer that Hardman did not have the right of way.
The witness stated they observed Hardman fail to yield to the traffic light at the time the two vehicles collided.
Hardman was transported to the Atoka County Medical Center where he left against medical advice.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Mills nor her passenger were injured in the accident.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 15, 2020 A TWO VEHICLE WRECK – Ocurred at the red light intersection of Court Street and South Mississippi Avenue. The occupant of the grey 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, Sean Hardman, left the hospital against medical advice.

A WITNESS TO THE ACCIDENT – On Wednesday, July 15, 2020, settled the dispute of who was at fault for the two vehicle accident that happened at the red light intersection of Court Street and South Mississippi Avenue.
