Graveside services for Joyce Larnell (Merritt) Huffman, age 85 years, 9 months and 17 days, a lifelong Caney resident, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at High Hill Cemetery, in Atoka, with the Reverend Harold Brewer officiating.
Interment was in High Hill Cemetery, at Atoka.
Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Huffman passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2020, at her home, in Atoka.
She was born on Saturday, October 20, 1934, to James Lee and Beulah Beatrice (McBride) Merritt, at Caney.
Huffman graduated from the Oklahoma School for the Deaf, in Sulphur.
She married Albert Medscar Huffman on Saturday, June 4, 1955, at Sulphur. They celebrated 26 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on April 23, 1981.
Huffman was a seamstress at Ethan Allen Manufacturing, in Atoka.
She was a member of the Caney Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include her children, Jerry Huffman of Caney; Paul Huffman and wife, Rhonda, of Caney; Darla Delay and husband, Harold, of Caney; and Kathy Huffman of Caney; grandchildren, Amy Huffman, Brad Huffman, Tiffany Crupe, Brandon Crupe, Whitney Bagby, Kaitlyn Delay, Darci Yarbrough, Trenton Delay and Gabrielle Huffman; eighteen great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas Merritt and wife, Judy, of Caney; aunt, Irene Merritt of Coalgate; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, James Lee and Beulah Beatrice (McBride) Merritt; husband, Albert Huffman; brother, Larry Merritt; granddaughter, Abby Delay; daughter-in-law, Paula Huffman; great-granddaughter, Morgan Flynn.
Pallbearers were Brad Huffman, Trenton Delay, Jay Flynn, Brandon Crupe, Tanner Hyatt and Emery Bagby.
Family night was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Friday, August 7, 2020, at Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
