Funeral services for Maudie Mahala (Daffin) McDaniel, age 94 years, 1 month and 7 days, a lifelong Atoka resident, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2020, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel, in Atoka, with Cecil Mackey officiating.
Interment will be in the McDaniel Family Cemetery, at Blackjack.
Services are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
McDaniel passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020, in Coalgate.
She was born on Saturday, July 3, 1926, to Eurira Ishmael and Ann (Wood) Daffin, at Blackjack.
McDaniel attended Bentley, Blackjack, Chilocco Indian Schools and graduated from Atoka High School, in 1944.
She married Chub McDaniel on Tuesday, January 9, 1945, at Atoka. He preceded her in death.
McDaniel was a seamstress for Blue Bell.
She was a member of the Blackjack Baptist Church. McDaniel loved to cook, was known for her famous yeast rolls and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Alvanell Morris and husband, Johnny, of Blackjack; Chock McDaniel and wife, Veronica, of Blackjack; Lola Irion and husband, Bill, of Harmony; Phil McDaniel and wife, Joyce, of Lane; sister, Ruie June Langford of Round Rock, Texas; brother, Charles Daffin; daughter-in-law, Vicki McDaniel of Stillwater; grandchildren, Alva Massey and wife, Alisha, of Asheboro, North Carolina; Melissa Denton and husband, Mikey, of Owasso; Valerie Phillips and husband, Cody, of Stillwater; Keith Capps and wife, Deanna, of Tushka; Rocky McDaniel of Durant; Kimberly Seay and husband, Jason, of Durant; Travis McDaniel and wife, Jessica, of Coalgate; Jennifer Waggoner and husband, Alvis, of Blackjack; Sarah Beth Bryant and husband, Wacey, of Blackjack; Kristen Fletcher of Atoka and Jessica Hemphill of Coalgate; 26 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Ish and Ann Daffin; stepmother, Arneita Crawford; sons, Charles McDaniel and Ruel McDaniel; granddaughter, Rona Cavender; niece Julia Cole; and daughter-in-law, Jan McDaniel.
Pallbearers are Tommy Richardson, Ditters Cole, Danny Witt, Mike Golden, Chuck Carroll and Roger Leuty.
Honorary pallbearers are Rocky McDaniel, Travis McDaniel, Keith Capps, Darwin Beck, David Hauff and Luke Alberda.
Family night will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Friday, August 14, 2020, at Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
