The Atoka County Commissioners meeting was held at the courthouse on Monday, August 3, 2020, at 10:00 a.m.
In attendance for the meeting were: Chairman Commissioner Shane Tomlinson, Vice-Chairman Commissioner Gilbert Wilson, Commissioner Marvin Dale, Deputy County Clerk Gayla Waller, Treasurer Kim Harkey, Sheriff Tony Head, Emergency Management Director Derrick Mixon, and EMS Director Randy Bryant.
After they issued blanket purchase orders, the commissioners moved into the business agenda.
Forrest Hill Road and Cedar Tree Lane received gravel and drainage work in the amount of $9,818.37 in District Two.
District Three laid gravel and fixed drainage on Artesian Road for $11,418.40.
Greasy Bend Road had new tin horns installed in preparation for an overlay in the amount of $17,123.08.
The commissioners approved an invoice from Smith-Roberts Land Services for their work on the Miller Road Bridge project.
A jailer/dispatcher commission was approved for Jeff Brower in the Atoka County Sheriff’s Department.
Representatives from Washington National Insurance, Kimberly Hill and Brad Williams, spoke to the board about adopting a supplemental health insurance plan for courthouse employees.
The employee health benefits were a topic of discussion and the commissioners did not vote to approve or reject the idea.
The June Commissioner proceedings have been approved for publication.
The 2020-2021 Tushka Fire Department receiving and requisitioning officers are Brickie Griffin and Rhonda McIninch.
There were no updates from the EMS Director Randy Bryant or Emergency Management Director Derrick Mixon.
Atoka County has had 64 positive cases of COVID-19 as of Monday, August 3, 2020. There are 11 active cases currently; 53 cases have recovered.
