Wednesday, July 22, 2020, Atoka Police Captain Brian Snead responded to a case of shoplifting from the Frost Ranch Wear store on 1875 South Mississippi Avenue.
A male subject, later identified as Jimmy Lee Baker, 35, of Coalgate, was spotted by a Frost Ranch Wear employee taking three or four pairs of jeans from a discount display rack in front of the store.
The employee followed Baker, telling him to stop. Baker entered the passenger side of a silver Ford Focus that began to drive away. The employee tore the temporary paper tag off the vehicle.
The vehicle was registered to a Michael Brown of Stringtown. Captain Snead spoke to Brown and his other passenger Tanisha Loftin about the theft.
Brown and Loftin both denied seeing Baker enter the vehicle with any jeans.
Baker is charged with petit larceny (misdemeanor).
