Thursday, August 6, 2020, Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Hunter Motley conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling 83 miles per hour in a 70 mile per hour area.
The driver of the red 2017 Hyundai, identified as Marcus Williams, 28, from Houston, Texas, had a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
Trooper Motley asked Williams why the vehicle smelled that way. He advised the Trooper that he had smoked marijuana earlier that day and there was also some in the vehicle.
Marijuana was located in a black backpack in the passenger seat. A Standardized Field Sobriety Test concluded Williams was not impaired to drive, however, he was placed under arrest for possession.
Williams is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (misdemeanor).
