On Sunday, August 2, 2020, Atoka Police Sergeant Jimmy Taylor investigated a report of a stolen vehicle.
Sergeant Taylor arrived at the Bledsoe’s Dinner to speak to the victim who had parked their vehicle behind the diner.
The victim noticed a woman standing in front of the diner who claimed she was tired of walking and that her vehicle broke down. The victim observed the female walk towards the back of Bledsoe’s and sat on a bench next to their vehicle.
When the victim’s boss arrived they inquired about the vehicle, stating it was not parked behind the building anymore.
The victim advised Sergeant Taylor that they believed the vehicle to be near Sandy and California Avenue.
Sergeant Taylor began a patrol to locate the stolen vehicle when he was contacted by Officer Cody Poe who advised him the vehicle had been located behind Bledsoe’s occupied by a female.
Officer Poe had the woman, Janna Tekubie, 38, of Coalgate, in handcuffs when Sergeant Taylor arrived.
Tekubie told Officer Poe that she had gone to the Choctaw Travel Plaza to use the restroom and that the vehicle was her friend’s.
The victim came outside because Tekubie stated she wanted to talk to them. After confirming the victim did not know her and wanted to press charges, Tekubie was taken to the Atoka County Jail for larceny of a vehicle.
Tekubie is charged with larceny of automobile, aircraft, or other motor vehicle (felony).
