On Thursday, August 6, 2020, the Atoka Sheriff’s Department worked with Stringtown Police Officers in conducting a search warrant at a residence on Iron Stob Road in Lane.
The warrant was in reference to a vehicle stolen from the District Two county barn in Stringtown on Wednesday, July 15, 2020.
When they arrived at the home, Stringtown Police Officers approached the residence to make contact. Sheriff Deputy John Anderson advised the officers he had noticed three male individuals in the wooded area behind the home.
One of the men was the suspect, Charles Thompson, 39, of Lane. Stringtown Police Officer Cliff Taylor questioned Thompson as they walked behind the home.
Located behind the residence officers found a dump bed and push bar that had been removed from the stolen vehicle. Deputy Anderson located a pile of parts that had the passenger door, hood, and dash of the vehicle.
Thompson was placed under arrest and taken to the Atoka County Jail. He is charged with knowingly concealing stolen property (felony).
