Atoka and Tushka Fire Departments responded to a structure fire at a home on 1211 South Dickerson Avenue on Wednesday, August 12, 2020.
Reports state that Tori Fletcher left the home due to her ex-spouse, Dewayne Durant Fletcher, 38, of Calera, being at the home.
A short time after she had left, Fletcher began sending her text messages claiming he planned to barricade himself in the home and burn it down.
Atoka Police Officer Joe Doshier arrived at the home after Fletcher had started a fire in the living room.
Officer Doshier entered the home where Fletcher was starting another fire in the southwest bedroom.
Fletcher was taken out of the home and into custody for arson in the first degree and endangerment.
Fire crews were able to put out the blaze, however the home sustained a fair amount of damage.
Fletcher is charged with arson in the first degree (felony).
