Funeral services for Gladys June Howard, age 77 years, 8 months and 3 days, a Stringtown resident, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2020, at Atoka Funeral Home Chapel, in Atoka, with Brother Simon Ratcliff, Pastor Bartt Bradford and Tony Potts officiating.
Interment was in Stringtown Cemetery, at Stringtown.
Services were under the direction of Atoka Funeral Home, in Atoka.
Howard passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020, in Denison, Texas.
She was born on December 10, 1942, to Lee James and Virgie Pauline (Rains) Parker, at Harmony.
Howard was a school cafeteria worker at Stringtown Public Schools.
She married Paul Gray Howard, on May 30, 1959, at Durant.
Howard was active with the Stringtown Senior Citizens and was an Honorary FFA member.
Survivors include her husband, Paul G. Howard of the home, in Stringtown; son, Paul Lee Howard and wife, Rita, of Atoka; daughters, Paula Howard and Floyd Williamson, both of Coalgate; Mary Anne Bradford and husband, Bartt, of McAlester; Barbara Ellen Sharp of Stringtown; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way; two brothers, Roger Eddie Parker of Tupelo; James Wylie Parker and wife, Judy, of Tupelo; also several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Lee James and Virgie Pauline (Rains) Parker; sister, Georgia Lee Justice.
Pallbearers were Timothy Bradford, Stephen Ratcliff, Simon Ratcliff, Shiloh Ratcliff, John Skaggs, Kaleb Howard, Gray Howard and Hickry Howard.
Honorary pallbearers were Tony Potts, Scott Dunlap, Jerry Elrod, Larry Eagleberger, Richard Leuty and Rick Heard.
Family night was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 15, at Atoka Funeral Home, in Atoka.
