Graveside services for Mary Lou (Buffington) Ray, age 81 years, 7 months and 18 days, a longtime Atoka resident, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at Rosehill Cemetery, in Wapanucka, with Brother Joey Lansdale officiating.
Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery, at Wapanucka.
Services are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Ray passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020, at her home, in Atoka.
She was born on Wednesday, December 28, 1938, to Charlie and Orphie (Hudson) Buffington, at McAlester.
Ray attended McAlester Public School.
She married L.T. Ray in September, 1978, at Atoka. They celebrated 36 years of marriage before his passing on March 19, 2014.
Ray was a housewife and homemaker.
She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family, helping raise her grandchildren and watching Judge Judy.
Survivors include her children, Charles Crone and wife, Rosa, of Atoka; Ronald Dean Crone and wife, Pam, of Kiowa; Shiela Cooper of Atoka; stepchildren, Lonnie Ray of Tushka; Trish Waller and husband, Billy, of Bellevue, Texas; Tammy Perazzo of Caddo; sister, Joyce Henry and husband, Jim, of McAlester; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jerry Cole of Alderson; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Charlie and Orphie (Hudson) Buffington; husband, L.T. Ray; children, Sandra Crone, Donna Crone, Danny Crone; grandson, Johnny Lee Cartledge; sister, Betty Cole; brothers, Jimmy Don Buffington and James Buffington.
Pallbearers are James Crone, Josh Crone, Brian Crone, Patrick Cooper, Mary Crone, Cody Crone and Randy Cole.
Family night was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
