Monday, August 24, 2020, Atoka Police Officer Joe Doshier arrived at the Super 8 Motel due to a letter left behind by a patron.
The letter stated the subject felt unsafe due to people following them. Officer Doshier was able to make contact with the author of the note, later identified as David Phillips, at the Thunderbird Motel.
Officer Doshier spoke to the subject and a female identified as Dawn M Houser, 46, of Carrollton, Texas.
Phillips gave the officer permission to search their vehicle. A black leather jacket belonging to Houser, on the floorboard of the vehicle, contained a small clear baggy. The substance inside the baggy field tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed two grams.
Houser was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled dangerous substance. She was booked and later released at the Atoka County Jail.
