An Oklahoma City resident was arrested Wednesday, September 2, 2020, after the body of a woman was discovered in an abandoned home in Stringtown.
Reports state that Tawny King, 35, of Oklahoma City was murdered in the metro area before her body was driven to Stringtown.
Her on-again off-again boyfriend, Derrick J. Brown, 32, of Oklahoma City, is accused of her murder.
Brown was arrested on the southwest side of Oklahoma City on a first-degree murder charges. He was booked into the Oklahoma County jail.
Oklahoma City police are still investigating the motive for the murder.
Court documents state King was granted a protective order against Brown in June. The victim noted in the protective order she was terrified for her life.
Brown had previously been arrested for stalking and domestic assault and battery by strangulation.
