Another individual has been charged with stealing a vehicle from the City of Stringtown City Barn.
Stringtown Police Officer Cliff Taylor questioned suspect Brian Massey about items stolen from the City of Stringtown City Barn and the Atoka County District One County Barn on Thursday, July 30, 2020.
Massey informed the officer he had brought a female friend, identified as Maegan Diane Baxter a.k.a. McDonald, 36, of Atoka, to the City Barn.
While looking for tools and fuel, Massey claimed he heard a vehicle start up and leave the property. After Baxter left with the vehicle, Massey ran to his vehicle and left the property.
Officer Taylor made contact with Baxter on Friday, July 31st, and questioned her about the incident that had occurred at the Stringtown City Barn.
Baxter told the officer she knew exactly what he was talking about and began explaining her version of what happened.
Baxter said Massey asked to drop him off near the property because he would be getting something from either the City Barn or District One County Barn.
She stayed in the vehicle, and approximately 15 minutes later a loud vehicle drove past her.
Baxter started Massey’s vehicle and drove to her residence on Texas Avenue. She did not hear from or see Massey until the next evening who claimed he sold the vehicle to Charles Thompson of Lane.
Baxter is charged with larceny of automobile, aircraft or other motor vehicle (felony).
