Tuesday, August 25, 2020, Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Tommy Allen was stationary near Highway 69 and A Street when he observed a vehicle come to a stop in the roadway on A Street.
The driver turned the lights off on the vehicle then back on. Trooper Allen approached the vehicle and made contact with the driver.
The driver, Randy Littleton, 54, of Atoka, exited the vehicle and informed the Trooper he was having a difficult time getting the vehicle in gear.
Trooper Allen asked Littleton for his driver’s license. Littleton advised Allen he did not have it with him.
Littleton was asked to sit in the patrol unit with the Trooper. He said there was an active warrant for unpaid traffic citations.
While speaking to the suspect, Trooper Allen observed a vehicle in a driveway to the right turn its headlights on. The Trooper also noticed Littleton attempting to hide something in his seat.
Littleton stated he did not have anything, however, when the seat was checked a glass pipe with burnt residue was located.
The vehicle went around the patrol unit, through the grass, and left the scene.
Littleton was placed under arrest. He is charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance (misdemeanor), and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor).
