Friday, August 28, 2020, a hit and run accident occurred on Highway 69 near Cedar Street.
Jared Block, 19, of Searcy, Arizona, was traveling northbound on Highway 69 in a yellow 2014 KIA Soul. A blue 2017 KIA Sorento was traveling next to Block. The driver of the Sorento changed lanes striking Block’s vehicle in the passenger side.
After the impact, the Sorento moved back into the outside. Block stated the driver of the vehicle looked at him before turning into a parking lot and leaving down a side street.
Due to a Facebook post, the driver of the Sorento, identified as Kimberly Logue, 41, of Atoka was located on West Elm Street.
Logue advised Atoka Police Officer Randall Slawson that neither she or her children realized she had hit Block, and wondered why he had followed her. Damage to both vehicles was minor.
