Caney Police Officer Brad Jackson was working a stationary patrol near the work zone on Highway 69 when he observed a red motorcycle traveling 85 miles per hour in a 70 mile per hour zone on Monday, August 31, 2020.
Officer Jackson activated his emergency lights to attempt a traffic stop. The driver of the motorcycle looked over his left shoulder at the officer and sped up, reaching a speed of 92 miles per hour.
Tushka Police Chief Buddy Sanders was notified of the approaching motorcycle, that refused to stop, and assisted Caney Police with the pursuit.
The driver of the motorcycle began passing vehicles on the shoulder, and weaved around traffic stopped at the redlight intersection of Boggy Depot Road and Highway 69.
Once past the redlight, the pursuit reached speeds of 130 miles per hour as the driver continued passing vehicles on the shoulder.
Approaching the Redbud Lane redlight, the motorcycle slowed to speeds in the nineties as the Atoka Police Department had set up a road block in preparation. The driver went around the roadblock and continued through the City at speeds of 90 and greater.
The motorcycle turned east onto Highway Three with Atoka Police Officer Jedediah Griffith taking over as lead pursuit vehicle.
As the chase neared Lincoln Street the driver made a U-turn in the middle of the highway causing the pursuit units to slam on their brakes to avoid hitting one another.
The driver headed west on Highway Three and then north onto Lincoln Street. He traveled two blocks to park in a garage at a residence with an open door.
Atoka Police Officers Chase Franklin and Jedediah Griffith pursued the driver into the garage. The driver, identified as Shaun D. Green, 25, of Fort Worth, Texas, was ordered onto the ground and placed in handcuffs.
Located in a backpack Green had been wearing was a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol. He was transported to the Atoka County Jail for booking.
Green is charged with endangering others while eluding police officer (felony), running a roadblock (felony), and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony (felony).
