Atoka Police Officer Joe Doshier received a call about an unknown male in a shed behind a residence on Monday, September 7, 2020.
The male had already left the residence when the officer arrived.
Officer Doshier was able to locate the man, identified as Jesse R. Sampier, 44, of Atoka, sitting on a concrete ledge at the corner of Eighth Street and California Avenue.
Sampier had bloodshot watery eyes and slurred speech. He was very unsteady on his feet when asked to stand.
Officer Doshier attempted a field sobriety test, but the test stopped for safety do to Sampier’s lack of balance.
Sampier was placed into custody and transported to the Atoka County Jail for public intoxication.
