Friday, September 18, 2020, Tushka Assistant Chief Troy Binnebose was patroling the school zone when a blue 2008 Honda Civic passed traveling 59 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour area.
Assistant Chief Binnebose stopped the vehicle at the Tushka Superette. He made contact with the driver, idetified as Ryan Carter Hill, 25, of Fort Collins, Colorada.
When approaching the vehicle, the officer detected the strong odor of marijuana.
Assistant Chief Binnebose inquired about the marijuana, but Hill informed him there was none in the vehicle.
Hill gave the officer consent to search the vehicle.
Located inside the Civic was a blue backpack that had numerous bags containing marijuana totaling 1.4 ounces.
Hill was placed under arrest and transported to the Atoka County Jail for speeding and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
