Tuesday, September 8, 2020, Atoka Police Officer Cody Poe was patrolling near California Avenue and West Fourth Street when he observed a female walking south on California Avenue.
The woman, later identified as Bunni Leanne (Reed) Stiles, 37, of Atoka, was causing traffic, from both directions, to stop in order to go around her. One of the vehicles was a school bus dropping off children from school.
Officer Poe made contact with Stiles for a welfare check.
Stiles appeared to be talking to herself with rapid speech and unable to stand still.
The officer asked if she had taken any kind of medication. Stiles stated she did not, but admitted to using narcotics two hours prior.
Stiles was placed under arrested for pedestrian in roadway and public intoxication. She was transported to the Atoka County Jail for booking.
