Early Sunday morning, October 4, 2020, Atoka Police Officer Jedediah Griffith was advised about a party involving underaged drinking at a residence on West Liberty Road.
Arriving on scene, Officer Griffith observed multiple people running through the back yard.
The officer spoke to an intoxicated male, 18, standing near the front door of the home. He informed Officer Griffith who the owner of the home was, identified as Christopher Layne Allen, 19, of Atoka.
Officer Griffith announced himself and requested the owner of the home to come to the door. The officer observed multiple alcoholic beverages scattered about the home and the odor of marijuana.
Allen spoke with the officer, advising him it was his grandfather’s home, but Allen was renting the residence.
A strong odor of alcohol was coming from his breath and person. Allen told Officer Griffith he had consumed 10 to 12 beers.
Allen was placed under arrest for allowing minors to consume alcohol on his property and transported to the Atoka County Jail. Numerous minors were also cited or arrested for alcohol related offenses.
He is charged with three counts of permitting invitees under 21 to possess or consume alcohol (misdemeanor).
