On Saturday, October 10, 2020, Atoka County Sheriff Deputy Austin Golden was conducting routine patrol on State Highway Three when he observed a black pickup with a handicap placard hanging from the rear view mirror.
The Deputy conducted a traffic stop, and made contact with the driver and passenger, Samantha Smith, 37, of Antlers.
Deputy Golden issued a verbal warning for the infraction, and was given consent to search the vehicle.
A black bag found in Smith’s purse contained a clear plastic baggie with a crystal-like substance inside and one glass pipe with a burnt residue which field tested positive for Methamphetamine.
Smith was placed under arrest and transported to the Atoka County Jail for booking. She is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (misdemeanor) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor).
