On Tuesday, October 13, 2020, the Stringtown Intermediate School participated in their first ever Paper Airplane Contest.
Students in the Fourth through Sixth grade Science class had been studying about aerodynamics, and the history of paper airplanes.
Each student was given three chances to get his or her best distance. Distance was measured from the starting line to the tip of the plane where it came to rest.
The top three students from each grade level moved into the final competition.
Fourth grade finalist were: Roslyn Reese, Brayson West, and Tuff Magby.
Fifth grade finalist were: Jeremiah Johnson, Hunter Boston, and Brance Crow.
Sixth grade finalist were: Beau Thompson, Trinaty Patton, and Bailee Deems.
The finals were held at 2:00 p.m. in the Stringtown Auditorium.
Winners were:
• 1st place Beau Thompson with a distance of 41.97 feet.
• 2nd place Brance Crow with a distance of 34.25 feet.
• 3rd place Brayson West with a distance of 32.5 feet.
Participation ribbons were presented for each participant.
