Funeral services for Rita Michal “Shelly” Brown, 63 years, a Wewoka resident, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, in Wewoka, with Brother Dennis Powell officiating.
Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, at Wewoka.
Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, in Wewoka.
Brown passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020.
She was born on February 6, 1957, to James Carey and Beatrice Williams Carey, at Oklahoma City.
Brown worked for Wewoka Public School, in the cafeteria, for many years.
She married Roy “Marty” M. Brown, Jr., on April 29, 1977, at Atoka.
Brown was a member of The General Assembly and Church of The First Born. She was baptized in Colorado, July 4, 1974.
Survivors include her father, James Carey of Atoka; husband, Marty Brown of Wewoka; son, Wesley J. Brown, Sr. and wife, Leah N. Brown, of Wewoka; grandchildren, Kelsie Brown, Lindsey Brown, Craven Brown and Wesley Brown, Jr.; six sisters, Linda Fisher, Leda Walters and husband, Allen; Jean Bagley; Necie Albertson and husband, Stan; Shirlene Howard and husband, Ronnie; Vanessa Ashby and husband, Tom; one brother, Brad Carey and wife, Rebecca; four sisters-in-law, Carlotta Carey; Debbie Epperley and husband, Randy; Gaylene Thompson and Karen McFarren and husband, Mark; mother-in-law, Artie Nogle; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her mother, Beatrice Carey; brother, Don Carey; special aunt, Cookie Williams; father-in-law, Roy M. Brown, Sr.; brothers-in-law, Estel Fisher and Calvin Bagley.
Pallbearers will be Derek Howard, Chad Walters, Eric Carey, Keith McFerran, Rodney Fisher and Ronnie Fisher.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kelsie Brown, Lindsey Brown, Craven Brown and Wesley Brown, Jr.
