Funeral services for William Leroy Raney, age 81 years, 11 months and 13 days, a McAlester resident, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2020, at Atoka Funeral Home Chapel, in Atoka, with Pastor Larry Luman officiating.
Interment was in Mountain Home Cemetery, at Daisy.
Services were under the direction of Atoka Funeral Home, in Atoka.
Raney passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020, in McAlester.
He was born on September 14, 1938, to Travis and Reta (Sanders) Raney, at Sunflower, Mississippi.
Raney was a logger and owned his own business.
He married Ruby Corine Isom, on July 3, 1958, at California. She preceded him in death on June 25, 2020.
Raney was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include his sons, Eddie Raney and wife, Nita, of Tushka; Doug Raney and wife, Jessica, of Whitehouse, Texas; daughter, Sherry L. Green and husband, Terry, of McAlester; 13 grandchildren, Robin Raney and wife, Sadia, of Rush Springs; William Raney and wife, Audrey, of Daisy; Raymond Raney and wife, Amber, of Redden; Daniel Raney and wife, Megan Robinson, of Stringtown; Jaese Raney of Tushka; Ashley Jones of Atlanta, Georgia; Kelsey Jones of Atoka; Travis Raney and Austin Raney, both of Troup, Texas; Trevor Raney and Conner Raney, both of Whitehouse, Texas; Porsha Perry and husband, Ricky, of McAlester; Lashanda Green and fiancé, Delante Redway, of McAlester; 25 great -grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; also several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Ruby Corine (Isom) Raney; parents, Travis and Reta (Sanders) Raney; grandson, Chris Jones; brother, Sam Raney; niece, Elizabeth Kelly; nephew, Travis Raney.
Pallbearers were Robin Raney, Trevor Raney, William Raney, Conner Raney, Raymond Raney, Austin Raney, Daniel Raney, Jaese Raney and Travis.
Honorary pallbearers were Dan Isom, Dalante Redway, Ricky Isom, Ricky Perry, Eddie Isom, Robbie Isom and Rick Akins.
Active flower girls were Tyanna James, Jaylianna James, Emmily Raney, Ellyssa Raney and Madison Raney.
Honorary flower girls were Sabrina Raney, Kelsey Jones, Morgan Raney and Hunter Raney.
Family night was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Atoka Funeral Home, in Atoka.
