The Atoka County Commissioners meeting was held on Monday, November 23, 2020, at 10:00 a.m.
A small and short meeting, Chairman Commissioner Shane Tomlinson, standing in for Commissioner Marvin Dale was Eddie Isom, County Deputy Clerk Gayla Waller, Assessor Joe McClour, and Emergency Management Director Derrick Mixon were present in the conference room.
The meeting began by the Board approving the in-compliance purchase orders which included $1,200 for Fugate Rock to District One for gravel, Walmart for supplies to District One, and monthly services to the Atoka County Health Department.
Chairman Commissioner Shane Tomlinson, and Eddie Isom approved the deposit of checks. District Three received a REAP (Rural Economic Action Plan) grant in the amount of $17,333.33 from the Southern Oklahoma Development Association (SODA).
REAP grants are used for road repairs, infrastructure improvements, economic development, rural fire departments, and other projects that will assist rural areas.
The county received an insurance reimbursement for damage to a Sheriff Department vehicle in the amount of $140.85.
The last check received for deposit was a worker’s compensation reimbursement in the amount of $426.46.
There was no update from the Emergency Management Director Derrick Mixon.
Atoka County has seen 791 positive cases of Covid, and 609 recoveries. There are currently 180 active cases in the County at this time.
County Assessor Joe McClour informed the board he had spoken to the Treasurer’s Office. Tax statements are being prepared and will hopefully be mailed out by Wednesday, November 25, 2020.
