A private graveside service for Gregory Ray Brotherton, age 64, a former Atoka resident, will be held by his loved ones. While the family deeply appreciates the condolences received, and would like to celebrate his life with others, the family feels that for the safety of all during the COVID pandemic, that a public ceremony is not possible.
Arrangements are under the direction of Atoka Funeral Home, in Atoka.
Brotherton passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020.
He was born on July 4, 1956, to Ray and Shirley Brotherton, at Ada.
Brotherton was raised in Atoka.
He was a member of the First Christian Church. Those that knew him, would describe him as outgoing and kind. He will be remembered by his mischievous smile, laughter and the love he had for his family.
Brotherton understood the struggles people carried and was always one to lend a hand and genuinely help others. The jobs he held in Atoka provided an opportunity for what he loved best: visiting with old friends and meeting new people.
He enjoyed going on vacations with his family and his children have many fond memories of road trips to Disney World.
A loving father, grandfather, son, big brother and uncle, he will be missed and held dearly in all our hearts.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley Brotherton; children, Eric Brotherton and Tala Turner; grandchild, Memphis Turner; brother, Tim Brotherton; sister, Lori Nelson; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his father, Ray Brotherton.
