Funeral services for Nora Alline (Cook) Blood, age 89 years, 1 month and 4 days, a longtime Caney resident, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at Hopewell Freewill Baptist Church, in Coleman, with the Reverend Vic Cook and Connie Howard officiating.
Interment was in Silo Restland Cemetery, at Silo.
Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Blood passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at Durant.
She was born on Saturday, August 8, 1931, to Robert Henry and Elizabeth Clay (Archer) Cook, at Lone Oak.
Blood attended Hopewell Grade School through the 8th grade and graduated from Kenefic High School.
She was a Nurse’s Aid, for 35 years, at Atoka Memorial Hospital and she would say that her blessings came from helping others.
Blood loved working and taking care of people. She enjoyed mowing her lawn and her neighbors yard. Blood loved the look of a clean cut yard.
Survivors include her sons, the Reverend Sam Vaughn and wife, Sherry, of Atoka; Harlan Vaughn and wife, Peggy, of Caney; daughter, Brenda Workman and husband, Don, of Atoka; grandchildren, Regina Robinson and husband, Rusty; Natalie Currie and husband, Brandon; Donna Hardman and husband, Kelly; Bart Workman and wife, Stacey; Melissa Denton and husband, Mike; Valerie Phillips and husband, Cody; David Vaughn; Kim Richardson and Eathan Richardson; along with several great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Robert and Elizabeth C (Archer) Cook; daughter, Jan McDaniel; brothers, Walter Cook, David Cook, Leonard Cook and RW Cook; sisters, Wilona Pruitt-Herford, Juanita Arnold, Edith Golden and Betty Mason.
Pallbearers were Rusty Robinson, Brandon Currie, Bart Workman, Kelly Hardman, Cody Phillips and Mike Denton.
Honorary pallbearers were Myrle Dilbeck Sr., Floyd White, Randy Tadlock, Jessie Frair and Darrell Atterberry.
Family night was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Monday, September 14, 2020, at Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
