On Tuesday, November 10, 2020, Atoka Police Officer Cody Poe was dispatched to the Atoka Walmart due to staff catching a shoplifter.
Officer Poe made contact with the Asset Protection Manager at Walmart who directed him to an upset woman sitting in a chair.
The suspect, identified as Tanya Pauline Blanks, 48, of Atoka, was reportedly at a self check out station scanning one item, but bagging two.
Blanks was stopped after she passed the final point of sale by Asset Protection. The manager advised the suspect what had been witnessed and reviewed the receipt with her.
She was placed under arrest for petty larceny and transported to the Atoka County Jail for booking.
