Graveside services for Wanda Loraine Holcomb, age 89 years, 7 months and 14 days, a longtime Atoka resident, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2020, at Green Meadows Cemetery, in Atoka, with Ray Gene Eaves officiating.
Interment was in Green Meadows Cemetery, at Atoka.
Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Holcomb passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at her home in Atoka, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on Monday, January 19, 1931, to Edward and Ruby (Williams) Bray, at Tupelo.
Holcomb attended East Jessy School.
She married James Emmitt Holcomb, Sr., on Monday, December 17, 1951. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1997, after 46 years of marriage.
Holcomb was a housewife and homemaker.
She was of the Baptist faith. Holcomb loved to garden and raise her many farm animals. She was happiest when she was either outside or visiting with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, James Holcomb, Jr. of Atoka; John Holcomb and wife, Sharon, of Lane; Russell Holcomb of Atoka; daughters, Deloris Holland and husband, Jerry, of Atoka; Patricia Mobbs and husband, DeWayne, of Atoka; Terry Cook and husband, James, of Nashville, Arkansas; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Ed and Ruby (Williams) Bray; brothers and sisters; son, Paul Franklin Holcomb; husband, James Emmitt Holcomb, Sr.; grandsons, Robert Sides and Shane Cook.
Pallbearers were her family.
Visitation was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
