Funeral services for Lawrence “Flint” Hershall Sutton, age 75 years and 11 months, a lifelong Atoka resident, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2020, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel, in Atoka, with Brother Joey Lansdale officiating.
Interment was in Farris Cemetery, at Farris.
Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Sutton passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at Muskogee.
He was born on Wednesday, November 1, 1944, to Robert and Leona (Gibson) Sutton, at Wister.
Sutton attended Farris Grade School and graduated from Atoka High School, he later attended Cameron University, at Lawton.
He proudly served his country in the Army, during the Vietnam Era.
Sutton married Sherry (Hedrick) on Friday, February 18, 1994, at DeQueen, Arkansas. They celebrated 26 years of marriage.
He worked many years in commercial construction, where he was a foreman.
Sutton was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and his dogs, Joe Dog, Harley, Baby Girl and Loopy.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Sutton of the home, in Canadian; sister, Dianna Procter and husband, Jim of Anna, Texas; brother, Bud Sutton of Atoka; daughters, Jennifer Sutton and Kristy Sutton, both of Lawton; sons, Bryan “Flint, Jr.” Sutton of Ada; Jack Hedrick and Lonnie Hedrick, both of Canadian; nephew, Bud Sutton, Jr. of Atoka; niece, Dian Walston Logan of Atoka; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert and Leona (Gibson) Sutton; first wife, Donna Sutton (mother of his three girls); daughter, Jackie Sutton; siblings, Sue Wilson, Les Gibson and Coon Sutton; sister-in-law, Sharon Sutton.
Pallbearers were Harry Farris, Joe Courtney, Dicky Hopson, Lester Moore, Gene Stevens and Kenny Hogan.
Honorary pallbearers were Billy James, David James, James Speers and the Barber Shop Crew.
Visitation was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Sunday, October 4, 2020, at Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
