Funeral services for Norman Lee Thomas, 80 years of age, an Atoka resident, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at Bentley Baptist Church, in Bentley, with Bill Sluder officiating.
Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Thomas passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020, in Atoka.
He was born on Friday, March 1, 1940, to Ralph and Katie L. (Howard) Thomas, at Bentley.
Thomas was raised in the Bentley area and moved to Oregon for many years before returning to Atoka in 2009.
He attended Tushka Public High School.
Thomas married Katheryn Lee (Rariden) on Friday, September 4, 1959, at Sams Creek, Oregon.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Thomas worked in the sawmills in the lumber industry.
He was a member of Bentley Baptist Church, loved playing dominos, visiting with friends and fishing.
Survivors include his daughters, Zann Johnson and husband, Calvin, of Toledo, Oregon; Mary Ann Cummins and husband, Ralph, of Fayettville, Arkansas; son, Leon Thomas and wife, Jewell, of Farmington, Arkansas; siblings, Sue Webster of Bentley; Jean Mobbs of Durant; Wanda “Snow” Rice and husband, Harley of Oneona, Alabama; Shirley McGuire and husband, Darrell, of Springdale, Arkansas; grandchildren, Justin Johnson, Vanessa NG, James Martin, Krisara Adkins, Cody Thomas and Joshua Box; along many dear great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Ralph and Katie L. (Howard) Thomas and a sister, Martha Peterson.
