Funeral services for Thyren Cleveland Justus, age 74 years, 2 months and 8 days, a longtime Caney resident, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2020, at Southside Baptist Church, in Atoka, with Brother Steve Havener officiating.
Interment was in Caddo Cemetery, at Caddo.
Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Justus passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at Oklahoma City.
He was born on Sunday, July 28, 1946, to Ernest and Lora (Newton) Justus, at Atoka.
Justus graduated from Atoka High School and also attended IBM School.
He married Patricia (Alford) on Sunday, September 24, 1967, at Durant.
Justus proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War.
He was a route salesman for JC Potter and Borden Milk Company.
Justus was a member of Southside Baptist Church and the VFW. He loved to fish, watch the Dallas Cowboys, gather pecans and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Justus of the home, in Caney; daughter, Sharla Justus of Caney; son, Clint Justus of Dallas, Texas; brothers, Dward Justus and wife, Helen, of Harmony; Hershal Justus and wife, Jewel, of Atoka; Eljin Justus and wife, Lois, of Atoka; sister, Levita Treas of Ada; brother-in-law, Mack Alford, Jr. and wife, Rebecca, of Milburn; sisters-in-law, Sandra Evans and husband, Bennie, of Tushka; Bonnie Hall and Mary Alford, both of Caney; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Ernest and Lora (Newton) Justus; brothers, Travis Justus, Herman Justus, David Justus and Everrette Justus; sister, Maretta Justus; sister-in-law, Linda Brown; brother-in-law, Mike Hall; father-in-law, Mack Alford; and mother-in-law, Pauline Alford.
Pallbearers were Joe Don Eaves, Ricky Vest, Jacky Vest, Doyen Crites, Danny Crites and John Cook.
Honorary pallbearers were Frankie Hunt, Ricky Hunt, Randy Daniel, Harry Farris, Ronald McIninch and Paul Ridgway.
