Funeral services for Charles Baxter Carroll, age 90, an Atoka resident, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Bentley Baptist Church, in Bentley, with Brother Jeff Culbreath officiating.
Interment was in Bentley Cemetery, at Bentley.
Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Carroll passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020, at Atoka.
He was born on Wednesday, January 8, 1930, to Colonel and Stella Lee (Ratliff) Carroll, at Bentley.
Carroll attended school at Bentley and graduated from Atoka High School.
He married Hazel Oleta (Sam) Carroll on Monday, February 23, 1948, at Sherman, Texas.
Carroll was a farmer, rancher, and insurance salesman.
He was a member of Bentley Baptist Church, fisherman extraordinaire, watermelon grower, domino player and played independent baseball. He also worked at a sawmill in Oregon.
Survivors include his daughters, Joann Duckworth Wray of Calera and Linda Carroll of Durant; son, Chuck Carroll and wife, Angie, of Durant; son-in-law, Don Deaton of Bentley; along with 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Hazel Oleta (Sam) Carroll; parents, Colonel and Stella Lee (Ratliff) Carroll; daughter, Paula Deaton; brothers, Berley Carroll and Ben Carroll; and his sister, Marjorie Wood.
Pallbearers were Randy Daniel, Kenny Daniel, Seth Daniel, Ronny Eaves, Benny Hogan, Caleb Eaves and Josh Eaves.
Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren.
Family night was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Monday, November 30, 2020, at Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
