Funeral services for Joyce Marie (Faulkenberry) Wills, 82 years of age, a McAlester resident, formerly a longtime Atoka resident, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2020, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel, in Atoka, with Richard Magby and Lynn Wallis officiating.
Interment was in Green Meadows Cemetery, at Atoka.
Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Wills passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at McAlester.
She was born on Thursday, February 10, 1938, to Otis Lee and Susie Margaret (Grimsley) Faulkenberry, at Atoka.
Wills graduated from Atoka High School.
She married Don Stephen Wills, on Thursday, December 26, 1957, at Durant. They were happily married for 59 years before Don’s passing in September of 2017.
Wills was a proud military wife and homemaker.
She was a longtime member of Tushka Baptist Church, where she was a sunday school teacher and active in the church choir. Wills loved to sing; she performed at multiple funerals and church functions. She also loved baking, sewing, gardening, hosting Easter parties, and hanging out with family and friends. Wills especially loved to travel with her husband, during his time in the military.
Survivors include her sons, Billy Don Wills, Sr. and wife, Dianna, of Enid; Jimmy Lee Wills of McAlester; daughter, Diana Marie (Wills) Taylor and husband, Larry, of McAlester; grandsons, Billy Wills, Jr. and wife, Amanda, of Andover, Kansas; Matthew Sewell and wife, Ashley, of McAlester; Chad Wills and wife, Kristen, of Mt Home, Idaho; granddaughters, Kendra Wills and fiance, Shane, of Mustang; Kati Schroeder and husband, Aaron, of Waukomis; Madison Brock and husband, Lane, of McAlester; Emily Teel and husband, Cason, of Ada; Lauren Taylor of McAlester; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, O. L. Faulkenberry and wife, Frankie, of Atoka; John Faulkenberry and wife, Nellie, of Lehigh; Margaret Belcher of Kingston; Betty Burch of Canton, Texas; Mary Paige and husband, Jerry, of Tushka; brother-in-law, Lawrence Bowen of Stringtown; sister-in-law, Naomi York of Tyler, Texas; along with nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Otis and Susie Margaret (Grimsley) Faulkenberry; and husband, Don Stephen Wills.
Pallbearers were Billy Wills, Jr., Matthew Sewell, Chad Wills, Buddy Faulkenberry, Homer Lee Belcher and Steven Belcher.
Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Bowen, Eddie Bowen, Lawrence Bowen, Billy Wills, Jimmy Wills and Lynn Wallis.
Family night was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
