Funeral services for Paul Morgan, Jr., age 76, a Wapanucka resident, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel, in Atoka, with Darwin Hall officiating.
Interment was in Boggy Depot Cemetery, at Boggy Depot.
Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Morgan passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, in his home, in the Wilson Community.
He was born on Tuesday, August 1, 1944, to Paul and Velma Audrey (Johnson) Morgan, at Atoka.
Morgan attended Wapanucka High School and Oklahoma State University Okmulgee and later received a master’s degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
He married Kathleen (McKinzie) on Friday, February 28, 1964, at Atoka. They celebrated 54 wonderful years of marriage before her passing, in 2018.
Morgan taught industrial arts, was a history teacher and also served as a counselor at Tushka and Stringtown Schools.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
Morgan was of the Baptist faith.
He was a member of the Oklahoma Educator Association. Morgan was also an avid reader, enjoyed wood working, working around the place, spending time with family, reloading ammunition, raising cattle and taking trips to Branson. His granddaughter was number one in his universe!
Survivors include his sons, Dale Morgan and wife, Sandra, of Wapanucka; Daryl Morgan of Wapanucka; granddaughter, Kasi Lanell Watson and husband, Bryton, of Denison, Texas; great-granddaughter, Galaxy Watson of Denison, Texas; sister, Sue Collins of Wapanucka; brother, Dennis Morgan and wife, Mary, of Wapanucka; sister-in-law, Uelala Cochran and husband, Oren, of Atoka; nephews, Chris Collins and wife, Marla, of Clarita; Russell Collins of Olney; Brian Collins and wife, April, of Kenefic; Joey Morgan of Broken Arrow; Jacob Morgan of Seabrook, Texas; Don Morris of Granbury, Texas; Stan Cochran of Ada; great nephew, Luke Graves of Atoka; nieces, Audrey Rochell and husband, Colby, of Lake Jackson, Texas; Debbie McKinzie of Atoka; Nancy Chandler and husband, Mike, of Fort Worth, Texas; along with numerous great nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Paul and Velma Audrey (Johnson) Morgan; wife, Kathleen (McKinzie) Morgan; sister-in-law, Eunice Morris and husband, Vernon; brother-in-law, Ueal McKinzie and wife, Betty; niece, Connie Graves and husband, Troy.
Pallbearers were Joey Morgan, Jacob Morgan, Chris Collins, Stan Cochran, Dan Johnson and Mitchell Loudermilk.
Honorary pallbearers were Bill Pingleton, Tony Potts, Jerry O. Hall, Oren Cochran and Jerry Hall.
Family night was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Friday, December 4, 2020, at Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
