Graveside services for Shirley Jean (Gabbart) Choules, age 84, an Ozark, Missouri resident, formerly of Stringtown, were held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 23, 2020, at Mountain Home Cemetery, in Daisy, with Brother Joey Lansdale officiating.
Interment was in Mountain Home Cemetery, at Daisy.
Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Choules passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020, at Springfield, Missouri.
She was born on Monday, March 2, 1936, to Louis Earl and Mary Josephine (Rowland) Gabbart, at Stringtown.
Choules attended Stringtown High School.
She was in retail sales, worked as a restaurant server and was also a business owner.
Choules was a Baptist and attended services at the North Park Village Nursing Home, where she lived for several years. She enjoyed reading, decorating for all occasions, spending time with her grandchildren, reminiscing about her family, listening to “her music” and dancing, making all kinds of food for the holidays and was an excellent cook. Choules loved having her pets, especially her toy poodles.
Survivors include her sons, Garlin Lansdale and wife, Debra, of Springfield, Missouri; Terry Lansdale and wife, Marta, of Branson, Missouri; grandchildren, Sara Lansdale of Manhattan, Kansas; David Lansdale and wife, Donna, of Springfield, Missouri; James Lansdale and wife, Denise, of Springfield, Missouri; Becky Holder of Willard, Missouri; Jessica Abdelaal and husband, Joseph, of Van Buren, Arkansas; numerous great-grandchildren, who always brought her great joy; brother, Danny Gabbart and wife, Pat, of Atoka; sister-in-law, JoAnn Gabbart of Daisy; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Louis Earl (Ted) and Mary Josephine (Rowland) Gabbart; son, Morgan Jerome Lansdale; sisters, Virginia Lee Gabbart; Kathryn Heard and husband, Dick; Klelle Garside and husband, Leonard; Betty Jo Brackett and husband, Thurman; and Norma Ann Brackett; and a brother, Rowland Louis Gabbart.
