Funeral services for Billie Faye (Davis) Goodson, age 78, a Durant resident, formerly of Atoka, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2020, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel, in Atoka, with Brother Ron Marble officiating.
Interment was in Butler Cemetery, at Lane.
Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
Goodson passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, in Oklahoma City.
She was born on Monday, January 26, 1942, to Jake and Gracie Viola (Keith) Davis, at Jumbo.
Goodson graduated from Atoka High School and also attended college.
She married Billy Wayne Goodson, on Tuesday, March 17, 1959 at Denison, Texas.
Goodson was a Lieutenant Correctional Officer for McCloud Correctional Center.
She was a member of the Lane Church of Christ. Goodson liked spending time at the lake with her family and friends, taking short trips with her Bubba Gump sisters, deer hunting and spending time at the shooting range. She loved to play wahoo and flip the table when she suspected someone was cheating or was getting beat. Her favorite activities included reading, working puzzles and shopping for antiques.
Survivors include her daughters, Stacy Bennett of Durant; Marsha Boyd and husband, Jason, of Caddo; grandchildren, Stormy Farrell of Tulsa; Chance Wilson of Atoka; Dillion Brewster of Durant; Bryar Wilson and wife, Sarah, of Atoka; Kelsey Jamison and husband, Hunter, of Durant; Kensie Boyd of Durant; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Sandra Hammond of Atoka and Connie White of Lane; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Jake and Gracie Viola (Keith) Davis; husband, Billy Wayne Goodson; daughter, Dodie (Goodson) Wilson; grandson, J.P. Farrell; and a sister, Joyce (Davis) Rector.
Pallbearers were Bryar Wilson, Dillion Brewster, Hunter Jamison, Jason Boyd, Jakus White and Thomas Fugate.
Honorary pallbearers were fellow McCloud Correctional Officers.
Family night was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Brown’s Funeral Service, in Atoka.
