Funeral services for Charles Junior Hurt, age 75, a Chickasha resident, formerly of Stringtown, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2020, at the Atoka Funeral Home Chapel, in Atoka, with Pastor Billy Adams officiating.
Interment was in Stringtown Cemetery, at Stringtown.
Services were under the direction of Atoka Funeral Home, in Atoka.
Hurt passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020, in Chickasha.
He was born on July 18, 1945, to Lonnie William (Bill) and Cordie (Gaddis) Hurt, at Stringtown.
Hurt was a truck driver and owned his own truck.
He married Barbara A. Fenley, on October 12, 1963, at Stringtown.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara A. Hurt of the home, in Chickasha; son, Timothy Doyle Hurt and wife, Typhinia, of Chickasha; five grandchildren, Amanda Brewer of Edmond; Randi Taylor of Ada; Timothy D. Hurt, Jr. and wife, Amanda, of Mustang; Tyler Hurt and Dillion Hurt, both of Las Vegas, Nevada; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald Hurt of Stringtown; six sisters, Bernice Sharpe of Atoka; Kathern Hayes of Stringtown; Billie Robinson of Texas; Wilma Allen and husband, Eugene, of Stringtown; Geraldine Loudermilk and husband, Lenard, of McAlester; and Linda Snead of McAlester; daughter-in-law, Karen Chesney Hurt of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister-in-law, Paula Hurt of Oklahoma City; also several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Lonnie William (Bill) Hurt and Cordie (Gaddis) Hurt; two sons, Marcus Dale Hurt and Charles Dwayne Hurt; brother, William (Bill) Hurt; two sisters, Gladis Hurt and Iva Mae Gibble; and five brother-in-laws, Sonny Robinson, Carol Sneed, Joe Ray Hayes, Bill Sharpe and Jack Gibble.
Pallbearers were Shriver Herring, Jerry Herring, Clifford Herring, Calvin Phillips, Brian Anderson and Timothy Hurt, Jr.
